The members of our Cultural Connections team, our relationships with one another, and our diversity of experiences, are critical to our collaboration. Our team includes Indigenous leaders, Elders, artists and students from the College of New Caledonia; Indigenous leaders, artists and staff from the Aboriginal Gathering Place at Emily Carr University of Art + Design; a Family Physician and designers, researchers and students from the Health Design Lab at Emily Carr University.

Decolonizing Cultural Safety Education Through Cultural Immersion
This project explores Indigenous-led arts and material practice workshops as a form of cultural safety education, by fostering dialogue between non-Indigenous healthcare students and Indigenous students in Lheidli T’enneh Territory and surrounding areas (Prince George, BC). By pairing moments of deep listening with active learning, this team of Indigenous knowledge holders, designers and collaborators from Emily Carr University of Art + Design & The College of New Caledonia is piloting a participatory and embodied approach to tacit-knowledge exchange.
